I’d like to start this post off with saying how excited I am to get started on this class and see what new things I will discover this semester. I would say I am very familiar with the internet and the variety of social media websites out there like Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. As I was reading over the syllabus I noticed that we were going to be using other websites like Flickr and SoundCloud, which I have heard of before, but have never been on either, so when I saw that I was excited to get to learn a little bit more about the internet and other social media accounts that are out there. I also can’t wait to get to know everyone in the class a little bit better!
Here’s a little bit about me looking through social media:
I am 20 years old, and enjoy just about everything that a person my age would! I LOVE going on different adventures with my friends, whether it be somewhere that is 10 minutes away or 5 hours away. One of my favorite places that I like to go with friends are very scenic and outdoorsy kind of places, so here’s a picture of me at Great Falls. My friend Amy and I visited here about a year ago, and let me tell you it is beautiful; I totally recommend anyone to go visit if you haven’t!
When it comes to social media, I definitely use Facebook the most, at least on the computer. When it comes to social media on apps on my phone I use Instagram, SnapChat, and Facebook the most. I do have a personal Twitter account, but I rarely use it, so decided to make one dedicated just to this class. So special, right? Here’s my first tweet on that account:

I have been born and raised here in Virginia, so when it comes to sports like football you would assume I’m a Redskins fan, but nope!! Pittsburgh Steelers all the way!! I thought it would be fitting to express how much of a die-hard fan I am of them by showing off a little Steelers song that my family, neighbors, and I like to get pumped up to when they make it to the playoffs.
If there was only one thing that I could bring with me to a deserted island it would 100% be my I-Touch. I love music SO much and honestly don’t know what I would do without it. It is what gets me going when I drive to school in the morning, when I go to the gym, take road trips, and basically just anytime I’m in the car or in my room. I have been to so many concerts I have lost track, and they have all been great. One of my favorite concerts I attended was Mumford and Sons. It was such a last minute thing and my aunt and I ended up getting Pit tickets, so we were feet away from them. They are one of the most talented bands I have heard, so I’m linking one of my favorite songs by them.
